AIR CANNON
Coming Soon! We are in the
initial stages of developing a uniqe air
cannon.
After having had discussions at length on
coming up with means to deliver stinky
substances to Japanese whaling vessles to halt
illegal whaling, we came to the conclusion that
we needed something new.
Our design is starting with the more
traditional PVC solutions because the testing
and development of the basics cost less and are
not subjected to Arctic weather.
We will offer plans at first, but home to
offer kits and completed air cannons.
Our primary design goal is to eliminate any
external valves and create a simple to use
"drop in" valve body sized specifically to fit
standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe. This will
eliminate all external pipes, elbows and
fittings leading to a compact design with
minimal external protrusions.
We plan to upscale this project to an all aluminum version capable of safe and reliable operation in Arctic regions for special needs customers.
The valve will be air-actuated which is faster than an electric valve. We will have small push button air valves for triggers.
The external exposed components will be limited to the handle with trigger, a small 1/4" OD line from the back of the cannon to the trigger and, of course, a fill inlet. Optionally you can install a pressure gauge and/or an over pressure relief valve for added safety.
This will feature a barrel concentric to the
air chamber. The valve can be accessed for
maintenance purposes with minimal tools.
We are past the preliminary design phase and
are seeking quotes from machine shops for small sample production
units for assembly testing and operation. Final prices will be determined by our cost to have the body sections machined from aluminum or, optionally, molded or machined from a composite material.
